WALKING TOUR:

Jewish Florence

Interno Sinagoga

This itinerary celebrates the legacy of the Florentine Jewish community from the Middle Ages to the present time.

The most prominent monument is the Florence Temple, considered one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe. To this day it is the fulcrum of the local Jewish community.

We also visit the area once known as Ghetto, where the three ancient synagogues were located and where the Jewish community was forced to reside from 1555 to 1801.

We also visit the Museo Ebraico, containing Jewish artwork salvaged from Florence’s ancient synagogues, ceremonial artifacts and an important archive documenting Florentine Jewish history.
