Technically, this recently renovated museum is known for containing the original works from the Cathedral complex, protected from elements and displayed in museum style. However, a more truthful description is that this is one of the most spectacular museums in Florence, because the superb renovation that was finished a few years ago has turned this museum to one of the most exciting, elegant and absorbing destinations in Florence.
The collection houses Gothic and Renaissance masterpieces, including Donatello’s Mary Magdalene and Michelangelo’s Deposition.
